Another AFI nominee is Adelaide actor Harrison Gilbertson.  Some you you would remember Harrison when he played Blackie’s young brother in Australian Rules. He has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role on Beneath Hill 60.

Wolf Creek 2 is looking good for shooting in South Australia later in 2011 and Producer Matt Hearn is hoping to be one of the first productions to use the new SAFC studios at Glenside.

No word from the SA Film Corporation on any upcoming productions for 2011. I have been invited to a meeting in a couple of weeks for an industry and Glenside update so if there is any positive news out of that I will let you know.

Crew on the Move

Rob Vouriot  - 1^st AD – is back in Canada until December working a film called “True Justice”.

Kirsty Stark – Camera Assistant – is trekking around India with a one way ticket! I am hoping to have Kirsty back working in Adelaide again sometime early in 2011.

Also on a one way ticket to Canada is Matt Pearson – Production Assistant. Matt plans on doing some snowboarding and check out the film scene while he is there. At this stage Matt is being coy about his return – let’s hope we don’t lose him from Adelaide Crew.

Marcus Bosisto and Darcy Sullivan made a quick trip to Uluru with the crane and hot head for a shoot for the FIFA Soccer bid 2022.

There was certainly lots of movement down south on Tuesday when we shot a music video for  a Jimmy Barnes new song “Largs Pier Hotel” for Melbourne Director D’Arcy Foley-Dawson. I had the enviable? job of finding 150 Barnsey fans willing to give up their day and walk up and down a hill in the heat in heavy black clothes.  With the help of TripleM, Mix102 and The Advertiser I was swamped by people wanting to be there. I should have charged them an entry fee! Matt Pearson was my intrepid casting assistant and AD’s Stefan Laguna and Daniel Fitzgerald corralled them into their positions. Anita Seiler did an awesome costume job with no budget to make them resemble some sort of army while Sue Taylor dirtied them up and Fiona Rees Jones made Jimmy look pretty. John Foster was ecstatic to work with 16mm again, ably assisted by Maxx Corkindale. Steve Russell made sure unit base was set and everyone was looked after and nurse Rebecca Knott had a few calls for attention.  Jen Drake supplied great props and of course Marcus Bosisto and Darcy Sullivan were at the top of hill doing what grips do.  It was a very long and strenuous day but everyone – especially the extras – were thrilled that the lovely Jimmy invited crew and cast back to the pub and bought them a drink.  Check out the gallery for more photos.
